Practical details

 

Step 1

Choose the country in which you’d like to volunteer. Also, define the timeframe of your volunteering period: when you’d like to start and for how many weeks/months. The minimum length is 4 weeks, while the maximum is 24 weeks.​

Step 2

Send your application, including your CV and a cover letter. Tell us why you’d like to volunteer abroad and if you have any previous experience with volunteering (this is optional, however).​

Step 3

You will hear from us typically within 1-2 weeks. However, this can sometimes take a bit longer if more applicants send their applications within the same timeframe.

Step 4

If you get selected, we will invite you to an informal meeting to get to know each other better.

Step 5

All applicants will be notified by email about the results of the selection process.

During the volunteering period, you will be able to join a wide range of activities, such as:

 

  • exploring the Nepalese community by getting to know the local food, music, festivals, religion, etc.
  • trips to UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Nepal;
  • exchanging good practices with the locals, especially with young people;
  • knowledge-sharing with the local community;
  • networking, making new connections;
  • discovering a beautiful and unique country that few people had the chance to visit so far.

Participating in this programme will bring you plenty of benefits, both on your personal and professional side. Therefore, we expect that you will:

 

  • develop your communication skills;
  • practice your foreign language skills, together with learning basic words and phrases in Nepalese language;
  • learn how to adapt in a totally new and challenging environment;
  • step out of your comfort zone and acquire new skills and knowledge.

While being in Nepal, you will have the chance to leave your mark on the local community. We strongly believe that you will improve the quality of life for the local community by:

 

  • helping young people develop their foreign language competences by practicing together with them the basics of English and any other language that you speak;
  • providing useful knowledge for the youth sector that can help them improve their life skills, facilitating their transition into adulthood;
  • improving the quality of life for the local population by making any kind of donations for the people in need;
  • giving the chance to young people to become entrepreneurs by teaching them useful skills related to leadership, time management and marketing.

In order to be enrolled in this volunteering programme, you will have to fulfill the following requirements:

 

  • provide a clean criminal record;
  • speak English at a conversational level;
  • have a valid travel insurance with international coverage;
  • actively participate in all the scheduled activities which are part of the volunteering programme.

To participate in this volunteering programme, each volunteer is expected to pay a participation fee of 1,699 DKK/week incl. moms. The fee has to be paid in full before the start date of the volunteering programme.

 

The participation fee includes:

  • accommodation at a local family’s house close to Kathmandu;
  • daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner);
  • Wi-Fi internet;
  • cultural trips;
  • mentoring and support from the hosting organization
  • guidance on planning your trip.

The participation fee does NOT include:

  • flights to Nepal;
  • travel insurance;
  • additional cultural trips, outside the programme;
  • other personal expenses.

To support the volunteers, we are able to offer the following discounts:

  • 10% OFF if you bring another volunteer with you and you both choose the same start & end date for the volunteering programme (the discount applies to both of you);
  • 20% OFF if you bring two other volunteers with you and all 3 of you choose the same start date for the volunteering programme (the discount applies to all three of you);

In addition, a further discount of 5% is given to all volunteers aged 31 years old or younger.

  • helping young people to develop themselves by empowering and motivating them throughout your volunteering programme; 
  • providing useful knowledge for the youth sector that can help them improve their life skills, facilitating their transition into adulthood;
  • improving the quality of life for the local population by making any kind of donations for the people in need;
  • giving the chance to young people to discover new cultures, practice their English and develop their intercultural communication skills.

In order to be enrolled in this volunteering programme, you will have to fulfill the following requirements:

  • provide a clean criminal record;
  • speak English at a conversational level;
  • have a valid travel insurance with international coverage;
  • actively participate in all the scheduled activities which are part of the volunteering programme.
  • working hour: 9.00-11.00 and 2.00-4.00pm. Teaching may have a different schedule based on the timetable each day they have at the school.

To participate in this volunteering programme, each volunteer is expected to pay a participation fee of 1,999 DKK/week incl. moms. The fee has to be paid in full before the start date of the volunteering programme.

The participation fee includes:

  • board and lodging meals are provided 3 times/day from Mon-Sat.
  • pick up (not send off)
  • orientation and city tour
  • local transportation (by bus)

The participation fee does NOT include:

  • flights to Vietnam;
  • travel insurance;
  • additional cultural trips, outside the programme;
  • other personal expenses.
